Creamy Methi Malai Matar a dish to be relished with piping hot rice for those chilly dark evenings. Totally vegan and totally awesome.
I would be honest with you. I love any dish that uses methi(fenugreek) leaves. Either fresh or in the dried form which is kasuri methi. It adds so much more flavour to any dish that it wont go unnoticed. If you cook with methi you would probably understand what I mean. And if you haven’t cooked with this wonder herb yet, then now is the time to don your cooking hat and start with this simple recipe.
Methi Malai Matar is nothing but a gravy curry dish which is made with methi or fenugreek leaves, malai meaning cream and matar meaning green peas. I got this recipe from my mom during one of our usual video chats last week. Although I have slightly tweaked her recipe to make it dairy free, there is absolutely no compromise on taste. I can not even begin to tell you how insanely tasty it turned out to be. Instead of fresh cream, which is added towards the end of the recipe, I have used coconut cream. It was absolutely brilliant along with my Burnt ginger rice. A perfect match for this curry dish.
